Revised Conditions of Service for Probationers Murses
and Staff Nurses in the Medical Department of
Hongkong.
1. Every candidate must be not less than 20 years of age and must furnish satisfactory references together with a medical certificate certifying that she is physically fit for service. 2. ▲ candidate so Élected will be required to undergo twelve
months probation before she is finally approved as a probationer
nurse.
3.
The period of probation having proved satisfactory the pro- -bationer murse will be required to enter into an agreement with the Colonial Government to serve as a probationer nurse for three years including the twelve months period of probation, at a salary of 8600 rising to 8720 per anmm by annual increments of 360 together with furnished quarters, attendance, uniform, and fuel

During the period of probation the probationer nurse will receive training in the following subjecta:-
1st. Year:-
(a) Elementary Anatomy.
(b) Elementary Physiology.
2nd. Year:

3rd. Year:-
(a) Practical Nursing, Bandaging.
(b) Elementary Surgery in relation to nursing. (c) Elementary Medicine in relation to nursing.
Leatures on special subjects, e.g. malaria, plague, enteric fever &c, do,
On the expiration of the period of 3 years ne a probationer nurse, and providing that her service has been satisfactory, she may be promoted to be a "Nurse" and placed on the permanent
